Kalshi Traders Predict President Trump Will Attend World Cup Final

The World Cup Final will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19 at 3:00 p.m. EST. While the two finalists are still unknown, prediction markets believe President Donald Trump will be in attendance.

Earlier this month, President Trump attended the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden. Prediction markets moved heavily toward him attending that event well before it happened, and traders are already looking ahead to the World Cup Final, which is now just over three weeks away.

Here, we'll examine the Kalshi market movement and break down what it would likely take for President Trump to attend the World Cup Final.

Kalshi Market Movement

It is common for heads of state to attend the FIFA World Cup Final, and according to FIFA President Gianni Infantino, President Trump is expected to be there and present the championship trophy.

The Kalshi market opened on January 11 with Trump given a 76.1% chance of attending the World Cup Final. Although the probability dipped over the following weeks, traders consistently believed he would attend.

On February 15, the market dropped to 62.7%, but confidence steadily returned. The odds strengthened even further after Trump attended the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.

Prior to Infantino's comments, the market briefly fell to 73.3%. Once it became public that Trump was planning to attend, traders reacted quickly.

The probability jumped to 90% on June 23 at 3:00 p.m. EST. Since then, it has slipped slightly to 86%, which appears to be traders taking a shot on the NO side because of the available value rather than any major change in expectations.

President Trump maintains a busy schedule, and plans can always change. However, New York is his home, and he has attended events at football stadiums before, making the logistics much easier than securing an arena like Madison Square Garden.

Expected Security for President Trump

If President Trump attends the FIFA World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium, it will likely be one of the largest security operations ever conducted for a sporting event in the United States.

The match has already been designated as a National Special Security Event, meaning the U.S. Secret Service will oversee security alongside the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, state police, local law enforcement, and dozens of other agencies.

Secret Service agents would thoroughly sweep the stadium, locker rooms, tunnels, luxury suites, rooftops, and surrounding buildings hours before kickoff.

Bomb detection K-9 units, explosive disposal teams, sniper teams, counterassault units, and counterdrone technology would all be deployed. Temporary flight restrictions would also be put in place over MetLife Stadium.

Fans would notice the increased security as well. Expect airport-style screenings, additional magnetometers, longer entry lines, road closures, and multiple security checkpoints surrounding the venue. Motorcade routes would be secured well in advance while helicopters monitor the area from above.

The Trade Handle Prediction Markets Take

Although there isn't much value left on the YES side, it still appears to be the safer trade. President Trump has made appearances at several major sporting events during his presidency, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino has publicly stated that he is expected to attend the World Cup Final.

Barring any unexpected scheduling conflicts or unforeseen events, President Trump should be in attendance at MetLife Stadium on July 19. The secruity will be massive and fans will have to account for this, but it's worth taking a chance on any prediction markets where you trade.
