Kalshi Dives Deeper into Wall Street With BMLL Deal

Kalshi increased its widespread push for expansion and legitimacy, hammering down a deal with market data firm BMLL. The two sides joined forces recently, with BMLL looking to integrate Kalshi’s prediction market data and Kalshi eyeing firm footing in the Wall Street realm.

The deal is a reminder that prediction markets are evolving beyond just exchange platforms, while firms like BMLL are also seeking innovative ways to capitalize on data.

Wall Street Seeks Prediction Market Data

BMLL CEO Paul Humphrey spoke on behalf of his client base, saying there is a growing urgency for “high-fidelity, historical prediction market data” with an eye on macro-level research.

Obtaining and utilizing this data has been difficult until now, but the partnership with Kalshi helps to eliminate any roadblocks.

BMLL already offers historical data and analytics across ETFs, futures, equities, and options, with various services utilized by firms, brokers, and other financial institutions. This deal wires them into Kalshi’s system, adding the popular prediction market into what BMLL already does.

Humphrey saw it as a major addition, saying “sourcing and normalizing these fragmented datasets has historically been inefficient”, with the deal with Kalshi helping to consolidate all data into one streamlined feed.

Kalshi Data Could Be a New Wall Street Signal

The real story could be that this is just a blip on the radar of Kalshi’s push to legitimize their product, while setting up a strong foundation with Wall Street roots.

BMLL is a great symbol for what Kalshi data can mean for other institutions, with Kalshi’s head of institutional, Andy Ross, declaring the partnership as an “important step in making prediction markets part of the institutional toolkit”.

With Kalshi’s data readily available, BMLL and any other firms it joins forces with should have the ability to study how Kalshi probabilities move around major events. This plays into high-level financial decisions, inflation reports, and risk management.

Building an Institutional Prediction Market System

Doing a deal with Kalshi gets a hold of more accurate information (and faster), but what’s in it for a prediction market platform? The goal for Kalshi isn’t just growth, it’s legit networking with an eye on being more than just a place to trade event contracts.

Kalshi has been setting the table for power moves in the financial stratosphere for some time now, as they've already partnered with Tradeweb, giving the company high-level access to prediction market data.

The play here isn’t just headlines or funding. Kalshi is connecting the dots throughout numerous financial institutions so it can insert its markets and data into tools most investors actively use.

The Trade Handle Prediction Markets Take

This isn’t so much about BMLL latching onto Kalshi, but more about Kalshi integrating itself further into the backbone of where financial decisions take place.

Prediction markets continue to face regulatory and legal issues, but the institutional side of this conversation is still evolving. The more Kalshi can prop itself up under legit business and expand its network, the better protected it is and the more powerful it becomes.

In turn, Kalshi’s prediction market data slowly evolves from something to be used in event contract trades, to information that heavily influences important financial market decisions.
