Underdog Uses Trade Surveillance to Boost Security

Underdog is looking to be a big player in the prediction market scene. It just took another large step toward solidifying their bid to do so.

Per reports, Underdog has obtained external trade surveillance with an eye on beefing up security on their prediction market platform. The move strengthens the site’s compliance infrastructure, giving it the same type of protection seen across the top prediction market platforms.

Underdog Adds Trade Surveillance to Prediction Markets

Underdog’s bid to enhance their prediction market platform’s security brought in the services of Eventus’ Validus. The security system tracks orders, market executions, and user behavior, while their trade surveillance also triggers alerts when it detects patterns that demand attention.

The move signals that Underdog is ready to take the next step as a legit player in the prediction market scene. Underdog is now positioned with a strong and reliable infrastructure that is equipped to handle onslaughts of infractions while scaling in a competitive industry.

Underdog Chief compliance officer Nick Thompson has gone on record in saying the company values trade surveillance as a fundamental tool in maintaining a safe and transparent prediction market ecosystem.

Prediction Markets Continue to Build Market Safeguards

Underdog is taking the necessary precautions to keep pace with a rapidly growing prediction market industry. Top platforms like Kalsh and Polymarket are two of the most secure event contract trading sites, and yet even they still have their bouts with insider trading and scams.

Novig and Rothera have also utilized Validus to close the gap between them and the leading prediction market sites, while Kalshi has publicly gone out of their way to push the envelope in regards to platform surveillance potential.

Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour was quite open about the company’s desire for “more guardrails” in a recent sitdown with PBA NewsHour, signaling that the top players in the industry realize how important security and transparency has become.

Underdog's move also showcases that their prediction market product isn’t just another random piece to their company’s puzzle. This move operates more as a firm upgrade of overall security to their platform, rather than just a light nod to Underdog Predict’s existence.

Underdog is Setting Itself Up to Scale

With these security measures in place, Underdog isn’t just protecting its rising prediction market product; it’s also setting itself up to scale in a rapidly growing industry.

It’s only been a couple of months with Underdog Predict officially in action, as the company launched its own CFTC-backed prediction market platform in July. Underdog’s volume and product line are both slated to expand, however, while a recent Bernstein report projects the industry as a $10 trillion money-maker by 2035.

With such a positive forecast and prediction markets already blowing past numbers generated in 2025, the future is bright and Underdog has ensured it’s also protected.

The Trade Handle Prediction Markets Take

This was always going to be a necessary move by Underdog if they wanted to be taken seriously in the prediction market scene.

With the positive growth throughout the industry, though, the security beef-up suggests Underdog is also bracing for a big spike, and will be prepared as their platform takes things to the next level.

Obviously Underdog is starting to position itself as a serious player. The bigger takeaway is that prediction markets in general are extremely healthy and they’re only going to get bigger and more lucrative. Taking added measures to ensure they stay safe for users is the bare minimum any platform can do if they have long-term ambitions of being among the industry’s leaders.
