Kalshi is bringing live sports directly into its prediction market experience. The company has signed a multi-year partnership with Catalist Sports that gives Kalshi exclusive US prediction market access to Catalist's live-streaming portfolio, along with official low-latency data for thousands of sporting events. It is Kalshi's first streaming partnership and another sign of how quickly its sports product is evolving.
The agreement covers far more than simply putting video next to a contract. Kalshi will use Catalist data to help create, manage and settle certain sports event contracts, giving traders an official information source alongside live markets. If you are following an event while trading it, having the stream and market available together could make for a considerably different experience.
Tennis Gets a Major Upgrade
Tennis appears to be the biggest immediate winner from the partnership. Catalist's portfolio includes more than 65,000 matches annually, with coverage spanning the World Tennis Tour and major events including the Australian Open and Davis Cup. That gives Kalshi considerably more content to build around throughout the tennis calendar.
The timing also makes sense after Kalshi recently became the exclusive prediction market partner of the US Open. Tennis produces matches throughout the year and naturally lends itself to live markets because prices can change quickly as matches develop. Combining official data with live video gives Kalshi another way to keep traders inside its platform instead of following the action elsewhere.
Catalist Brings More Than Tennis
The agreement stretches into several other international sports as well. Catalist provides sports content across North America and already works with several major traditional sports platforms. Kalshi becomes its first prediction market partner.
The partnership includes access to content across:
- More than 65,000 annual tennis matches
- International soccer
- International basketball
- International hockey
- The World Tennis Tour
- Australian Open and Davis Cup coverage
Soccer could be particularly important after Kalshi's enormous World Cup activity. The Spain-Argentina final alone generated $1.9 billion in trading volume on the platform, showing how strong demand for major international matches can be.
Live Video Changes the Product Experience
Prediction markets have traditionally required you to bounce between different products. You might watch a game on television or another streaming service while following changing contract prices somewhere else. Integrating live sports content starts bringing those experiences together.
Kalshi's Head of Markets Arjun Sawai described premium content as a foundation for building a better prediction market experience. The combination of exclusive video and official data also gives Kalshi something competitors cannot simply replicate using the same Catalist feed in the US prediction market category.
Sports Data is Becoming Another Competitive Battleground
The partnership shows that competition between prediction market platforms is moving beyond simply listing more contracts. Data rights, streaming, league partnerships and exclusive sports content are becoming increasingly important parts of the product. Platforms now have to think about what happens around the trade, not just the contract itself.
That evolution looks familiar across the wider sports industry. Live data has long been valuable to traditional operators, broadcasters and media companies. Prediction markets becoming another buyer for those rights creates a new distribution channel for companies such as Catalist.
The Trade Handle Prediction Markets Take
We think the exclusivity is what makes this deal particularly interesting. Kalshi could have simply purchased another sports data feed, but combining official low-latency data with exclusive prediction-market streaming rights gives the company something it can build a differentiated product around. Tennis provides an especially strong place to test whether traders value having everything in one place.
The bigger story is where sports prediction markets are heading. Platforms are competing for leagues, teams, data, streaming rights, and distribution alongside trading activity. Kalshi's first streaming partnership suggests watching the event itself could eventually become just as important to the platform experience as trading on it.
