Apex and Kalshi Make Prediction Markets Easier to Add

Prediction markets could soon start showing up inside a lot more investing platforms. Apex Fintech Solutions has partnered with Kalshi to launch API technology that lets financial services companies add Kalshi prediction markets directly to their existing products without building an entirely new system from scratch.

That may sound like a behind-the-scenes infrastructure announcement, but it could have a pretty noticeable impact for users. Instead of downloading another app or opening a separate account specifically for event contracts, you could eventually see prediction markets sitting alongside stocks and other investments on platforms you already use.

Apex Handles the Complicated Part

One of the biggest hurdles for a brokerage interested in prediction markets is everything required behind the product you actually see. Connecting to an exchange, handling clearing, and managing customer accounts takes time, money, and specialized infrastructure.

Apex is basically offering to handle that work. Financial companies can connect through its existing AscendOS APIs, while Kalshi provides the prediction markets themselves. The setup includes:

  • Futures Commission Merchant operations
  • Clearing and segregated custody
  • Account and money management
  • Market data and order management
  • Position tracking
  • Automated contract settlement

Apex says that approach can cut development timelines from months to weeks. Tastytrade is already the first company to go live using the new platform.

Prediction Markets Can Sit Next to Stocks

The user experience might be the most interesting part of the announcement. Event contracts don't necessarily need to live inside a separate prediction market app under this model. Apex says positions can appear alongside traditional securities within a customer's existing portfolio. That could make prediction markets feel much more familiar to everyday investors.

Someone checking their stock positions could also have contracts tied to economic indicators, financial markets, weather, sports, or cultural events sitting in the same account. Kalshi also gains something important without needing to acquire every customer directly. Each brokerage or financial platform that eventually connects through Apex could become another distribution channel for Kalshi's markets.

Kalshi Keeps Building Around its Exchange

This partnership fits into Kalshi's broader infrastructure push. Just days ago, the company announced a multi-year partnership with Nasdaq that will bring Nasdaq's market surveillance technology onto its exchange. Now Kalshi is adding another major piece of financial infrastructure, this time focused on distribution. The two announcements solve very different problems.

Nasdaq's technology helps Kalshi monitor trading activity and identify potentially suspicious behavior, while Apex makes it easier for outside companies to put Kalshi's contracts in front of their own customers. Apex isn't necessarily building a Kalshi-only system forever, either. Kalshi is the first prediction market venue connected to the new platform, but Apex says it plans to add additional venues and capabilities over time through the same AscendOS connection.

The Trade Handle Prediction Markets Take

We think the most important part of this deal is how much easier it could make prediction markets to distribute. The next stage of industry growth may not require convincing everyone to download a dedicated prediction market app. It could come from putting event contracts inside financial platforms people already use. Kalshi gets a valuable head start through the Apex integration.

Every brokerage connected to Apex now has a potentially much shorter path to offering prediction markets without having to develop all the infrastructure independently. That's a meaningful advantage as competition grows. Prediction markets are increasingly looking less like standalone products and more like another financial asset that brokerages can plug into their existing platforms. If that trend continues, infrastructure partnerships like this one could end up being just as important as directly attracting users.
