Hip-hop legend and NFL partner Jay-Z is gaining significant traction in prediction markets forecasting the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show.
Dave Brooks, a contributor for the journalist-owned digital media Puck News, reported that Jay-Z was leaning toward calling his own number for the upcoming halftime performance. “Hov” signed a five-year extension to help produce the iconic performance in 2024.
Jay-Z leads Super Bowl Halftime prediction markets
Jay-Z’s Roc Nation began curating and producing the Super Bowl halftime show in 2019 ahead of Super Bowl LIV in 2020. The five-year extension signed in 2024 will entrust the management, production, and entertainment company with selecting the performing acts through the Big Game in 2029.
The list of performers previously selected by Roc Nation includes:
- 2020: Shakira and Jennifer Lopez with Bad Bunny and J Balvin
- 2021: The Weeknd
- 2022: Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar with 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak
- 2023: Rihanna
- 2024: Usher with Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., will.i.am, Lil Jon and Ludacris
- 2025: Kendrick Lamar with SZA
- 2026: Bad Bunny with Lady Gaga
Although nothing has been confirmed, Brooks’ report coincided with substantial movement for Jay-Z in Super Bowl Halftime prediction markets. The rap mogul vaulted to an 86% chance of being the headlining performer at the time of writing, up from 40% on Saturday and 59% 24 hours ago at Kalshi.
Hov’s wife and international megastar, Beyoncé, is appropriately the second choice in Super Bowl halftime prediction markets at Kalshi, with a 15% likelihood.
Additional headlining options include Miley Cyrus (9%), Harry Styles (7%), Cardi B (6%), Morgan Wallen (5%), Justin Bieber (4%), and others.
Who else could take the stage?
Despite being a prolific businessman, Jay-Z, 56, is still extremely active in hip-hop. He spent 2026 touring North America and Europe in celebration of the 30th anniversary of his breakthrough album Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of the iconic The Blueprint.
Hov grossed more than $42 million from three sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium in July and added another $12 million after selling out a 75,000-seat venue in Paris in September. That came just five days after he reunited the Fugees for two sold-out shows in London, England, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Fittingly, the final stop of the “Jay-Z 30 Tour” will be at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA — the upcoming Super Bowl venue — on Oct. 23-24.
In addition to prognosticating who will headline the Super Bowl Halftime show, Kalshi has prediction markets for performers who will take the stage at any point. Jay-Z (82%) and Beyoncé (62%) lead the market, which also includes notable names such as:
- Pharrell Williams: 45%
- Rihanna: 45%
- Justin Timberlake: 40%
- Bruno Mars: 34%
- Cardi B: 30%
- KATSEYE: 30%
- Shaboozey: 29%
- Dua Lipa: 27%
- J. Cole: 25%
- Lady Gaga: 25%
- Mariah Carey: 25%
Super Bowl LXI is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 14, 2027. There’s no deadline for when the headlining performer must be announced, although each of the last four shows were unveiled in September, roughly one month before the current date.
$1.4 million has been traded in Kalshi’s Super Bowl Halftime headliner prediction markets at the time of writing.
The Trade Handle Prediction Markets Take
Seeing as the Super Bowl Halftime performer has usually been announced by this time of the year, it makes sense that Jay-Z has taken over as the leading candidate in prediction markets. Hov has control over the situation and can afford to delay the announcement, whereas a separate performer would’ve likely been revealed to the public. The Jay-Z 30 Tour concludes this weekend, which would free him up to announce the Super Bowl Halftime show.
