Polymarket is one of the most recognizable prediction market platforms, receiving positive feedback from traders across the US. But does it live up to its reputation? In this Polymarket review, I’ll take you through everything it has to offer.
Everything that matters will be reviewed in detail, from what Polymarket is and the types of prediction markets, to how to trade event contracts and mobile app performances. You’ll also learn about deposits, withdrawals, customer support, licensing, and security. By the end, you’ll know whether Polymarket truly deserves its reputation as one of the world’s leading prediction sites.
What is Polymarket?
Prediction markets are all the rage right now, and that’s not surprising. If you’re new to this space, it helps to first explain what Polymarket is. Polymarket is a crypto-based prediction market platform where you trade on the outcome of events that will happen in the future.
These real-life events could be everything from the outcome of sports games, political decisions and elections, weather, or even tech trends. Prediction markets are offered in the form of Yes or No event contracts and you simply choose what you think might happen. If you think an event will occur, you buy the Yes shares, if you don't, you go for No shares.
What makes Polymarket event contracts and other prediction markets interesting is that contract prices aren't fixed. They shift as more users make trading decisions, whether that's buying event contracts or selling their positions before the event settles.
How do prediction markets on Polymarket work?
While writing this Polymarket review, I spotted thirteen prediction markets with thousands of Yes and No contracts that are based on real-world occurrences. Contract shares have prices ranging from $0.01 to $0.99 and these prices are influenced by supply and demand.
If other traders on the Polymarket trading platform think an event might happen, there'll be more bid orders for Yes contracts which will spike the prices. But if they believe the chances of occurrence are low, they'll be less demand for those contracts and ultimately, lower prices. So the contract prices show you what the market speculates could happen.
Each price is affected by two key factors, the bid, which is what buyers are willing to pay, and the ask, which is what sellers are willing to accept. Polymarket usually displays a midpoint between these two as the current price.
For context, if the price of a Yes contract for gas prices to go above $4.20 by the end of April 2026 is priced at 65¢, it means traders on the site think there’s about a 65% probability that it will happen. If you purchase the Yes contract and gas prices go over that amount, the contract settles at $1 and you'll receive a profit of $0.35. On the flip side, if it stays under $4.20, it settles at $0 and the 0.65¢ spent on the contract is lost.
After an event happens in real life, each share settles at $1 if your prediction was correct or $0 if it wasn't. You can also choose to sell your position early at the current market price instead of waiting for the event to conclude.
Is Polymarket legit?
It's natural to ask - is Polymarket legit, especially since prediction markets are still fairly new. Based on my findings during this Polymarket review, it is absolutely legit and safe. Polymarket is a crypto-based prediction market giant that returned to the US after securing approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in November, 2025. This allows it to offer a variety of prediction markets to traders in the US. So as long as you're at least 18 years old, you can sign up by clicking any of the banners on this page, complete the necessary KYC checks, and start trading on Polymarket event contracts. Being licensed by the CFTC means that Polymarket adheres to strict rules on transparency, fair trading, and user protection.
Security and safety of your personal and financial data aren't taken lightly on the website or Polymarket app. The site is TLS encrypted, while the app is equipped with biometric login and 2FA. I always suggest turning on 2FA for that added security.
Even better, all users must complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) checks after signing up. This helps prevent fraudulent people from gaining access to the platform.
So if you’ve been curious and asking: Is Polymarket legal and allowed to operate in the US? You now know it is.
What is the Polymarket sign up bonus for new traders?
No Polymarket promo code is required to claim the welcome bonus, which is a plus since you don't have to search the web for any special codes. New traders can receive a $50 trading bonus after creating an account, getting verified, and making a deposit of at least $20.
Once you fund your account, the $50 bonus is added to your account and can be used across different Polymarket prediction markets such as sports, politics, culture, and economy without worrying about restrictions. One important thing to note is that this bonus can only be accessed via the Polymarket app, so you might want to download it to be eligible.
How to claim the Polymarket sign up bonus
If you’ve met the Polymarket registration criteria, that includes living in an eligible state and being at least 18 years old or older if required by your state, you’re all set to register and claim your Polymarket sign up bonus. Here are the steps to follow:
You'll receive $50 in trading bonus right after. Just remember that small Polymarket fees may apply to trades on certain markets except geo-political and world events, and gas fees may apply if you're depositing coins other than USDC. Also, bonus terms can change at any point. You might want to check these to see what applies.
Polymarket prediction markets review
So what events can you trade on? Polymarket prediction markets cover an extensive range of events. If it matters in the real world, then there's a good chance you'll find a prediction market for it on Polymarket.
There’s a variety of short-term and long-term contracts available, and they're grouped into politics, sports, crypto, culture, economics, Iran, esports, and a lot more. So you'll have plenty to trade on. Let’s look at each category and the kind of Polymarket event contracts you can trade.
Is Polymarket easy to trade on?
An easy-to-use website that still has all the important event contract details including charts takes priority for me. The Polymarket trading platform is simple to use even if you’re totally new to these markets. Contracts ask clear questions, markets are well categorized, and the help section covers any information you may need. If you’re totally new to prediction markets, there are guides in the Learn tab at the footer that helps you understand the basics
At the top of the homepage, you’ll find tabs for trending and new events, and dedicated tabs for Politics, Sports, Crypto, Culture, Economy, Weather, and others. Each contract shows its pricing, percentages, volume, and end dates, and you can share your thoughts or just banter in the lively comment section. I didn’t experience any lag while placing trades or navigating the site.
If you like to keep tabs on what's happening that could influence trades, you may find the news section at the bottom left of the homepage useful as it highlights the most current events. This makes it easy to follow what’s happening and make informed decisions. I’ve also shared a few tips on how to use prediction market news to your advantage.
Download the Polymarket app to trade on the move
Apps are generally more convenient as I can trade on the go from anywhere and at any time. It's almost non-negotiable in a market that can react fast to new information. If you download the Polymarket app on your iOS or Android device, you can manage your account, place trades, and track prices without missing a beat. The layout is easy to get to grips with, which makes it easy to trade on live markets and place trades in seconds.
I always turn on notifications, and you can do the same if you prefer. It has been handy in spotting trading opportunities and making timely decisions since you're able to track market activity as it happens.
Customer support - Tested for this Polymarket review
Getting help is easy and takes a couple of minutes at most, based on my own experience. Click the sticky chat bubble at the bottom right of the screen to access 24/7 live chat and the help center. You'll find a wealth of useful information there, including a list of the most popular FAQs and help guides on questions like what are prediction markets, how they are created, how trading works, and a host of others. There’s also a search bar, so you can easily type in your query and find the most relevant help.
If you'd rather not sort through articles or don’t find what you need, you can contact the support team via live chat. It's usually my first port of call, especially since there's no bot and you're connected to a human agent right away. During this Polymarket review, I found it rather interesting that email isn't a primary contact method, and that's totally fine in my opinion since help via this channel can be slow.
You can also get help via their Discord server. Simply click the icon in the website footer or in the app to join, go to the support section, and click on “Open a Ticket” to start a private conversation with a team member. If you go further and click on the documentation tab, you'll find an array of video tutorials that explains everything about Polymarket and also walks you through how to trade and even how to read the orderbook. I'll suggest you make this your first stop if you want to know more about predictions. Polymarket honestly nails what a reliable support team should be.
Deposits and withdrawals are seamless
Polymarket is a crypto-based prediction platform, so all transactions are on-chain. USDC is mainly used for trades, and that's a plus since stablecoins hedge against unstable crypto prices. You can also make deposits using several supported networks, including Polygon, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, and Solana. But remember that network fees may apply.
It's okay if you don’t currently hold USDC since you can simply buy it through third-party providers like MoonPay using Visa and Mastercard debit cards, or simply transfer it from an exchange or external wallet.
Withdrawals are made with USDC, and you can move your profits in USDC from Polymarket to other networks. Crypto payments are irreversible, so I'll advise you to cross check details like the network and deposit address before confirming your transactions.
Are there any Polymarket fees?
No fees are charged on deposits or withdrawals at the time of writing this Polymarket review. But funding your account using other crypto outside the default USDC on Polygon usually comes with small network fees.
With that said, Polymarket charges small trade fees on certain markets. Trades on geopolitical and world events are completely free of fees. But some, including sports and tech prediction market sites, may charge a small amount that's shared as liquidity rewards to traders who help keep prices stable. I'll go into more details about this reward in the next section of this Polymarket review.
Polymarket bonus offers existing traders
Aside from the Polymarket sign up bonus, you'll have access to more promotions tailored for returning players. This includes the daily liquidity rewards, holding rewards, and a generous referral program. Let's take a look at each.
Daily rewards
This is better known as the Liquidity Rewards Program, where you receive rewards by placing limit orders that contribute to helping the market stay active and balanced. Orders that are close to the market’s average price usually fetch better rewards. Also, if your orders are more competitive, that makes them more useful to traders compared to others in size and pricing, so you’re likely to receive more.
Liquidity rewards are calculated daily, and you can check what you've collected from the rewards section. Heads up, though. My Polymarket review noted a minimum threshold of $1, so rewards less than that won’t be credited to your account.
Holding rewards
All traders have the choice to hold their positions, that is, keep the contracts they purchased and wait for the event to happen in real life, or sell them before then to lock in their profit or hedge against losses.
However, holding your position on certain contracts is rewarded with a 4.00% annual return rate on eligible positions. This is awarded daily, and some of the eligible Polymarket prediction markets include:
- Presidential Election Winner 2028
- Republican Presidential Nominee 2028
- Democratic Presidential Nominee 2028
- Which party wins 2028 US Presidential Election?
Polymarket referral bonus
During my Polymarket review, I found that the referral program only becomes available to you if you’ve hit at least $10,000 in trading volume. When this milestone is reached, you can create your own referral link from the site or app and share it with buddies interested in prediction markets.
If your friends sign up using your link, you'll receive a percentage of their trading fees on Polymarket during their first 180 days. This percentage comes from both direct and indirect referrals. If you invite a friend, say Mark, and he goes on to invite Lewis, here's what you'll collect:
- Direct referral (Mark): 30% of fees generated from Mark’s trading activity
- Indirect referral (Lewis): 10% of fees generated from Lewis’s trading activity
Your rewards are paid out each day at midnight UTC.
