Robinhood could soon add another major name to its growing prediction markets business. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, the brokerage is in discussions with Crypto.com to bring the exchange's event contracts onto Robinhood's prediction markets hub. If an agreement is reached, the partnership would give Robinhood users access to another marketplace while further reshaping an industry that is becoming more competitive by the month.
Nothing has been finalized, and both companies could still walk away without a deal. Even so, the reported talks highlight how quickly the prediction markets landscape is evolving as platforms race to expand their reach and attract new traders.
Robinhood Is Building a Multi-Exchange Marketplace
Robinhood didn't create its prediction markets business from scratch. Instead, the company has focused on partnering with exchanges that already offer event contracts, allowing users to access those markets directly through the Robinhood app.
Today, Robinhood works with several providers, including:
- Kalshi
- ForecastEx
- Rothera
- Potentially Crypto.com if a deal is completed
Robinhood said it plans to continue partnering with multiple exchanges to provide customers with a diverse marketplace. That approach could give users access to a wider variety of contracts while reducing reliance on any single platform.
The Relationship With Kalshi Has Changed
One of the more interesting parts of this story is how Robinhood's relationship with Kalshi has evolved. When Robinhood first entered prediction markets, Kalshi played a major role by supplying event contracts through the brokerage's platform. Since then, both companies have expanded their own businesses, creating a situation where they are now partners in some areas while competing directly in others.
Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour has previously acknowledged that dynamic, describing Robinhood as both a partner and a competitor. Robinhood's continued expansion into additional partnerships suggests it wants flexibility as the industry continues growing.
Crypto.com Has Bigger Plans for Prediction Markets
Crypto.com has been steadily increasing its presence in the sector over the past two years. The company began offering event contracts through its derivatives business before launching its standalone prediction markets platform, OG, earlier this year. It also announced plans to bring prediction markets to Truth Social through a partnership with Trump Media, although that product has not launched.
Adding Crypto.com's contracts to Robinhood would significantly expand their potential audience by placing them in front of millions of retail investors who already use the brokerage's platform.
The Trade Handle Prediction Markets Take
Prediction markets are starting to resemble a traditional financial ecosystem much more than a collection of individual platforms. Exchanges are partnering, competing, sharing infrastructure, and constantly looking for new ways to reach traders without forcing them to leave the apps they already use.
Robinhood appears to be positioning itself as a central destination rather than relying on one exclusive provider. If Crypto.com joins Kalshi, ForecastEx, and Rothera on the platform, Robinhood users could gain access to an even broader selection of event contracts through a single account. That kind of flexibility may become one of the biggest competitive advantages as prediction markets continue expanding across the financial industry.
