Having already established itself as a trading platform, I had high hopes for my latest Robinhood review, and it would be fair to say that they have smashed it out of the park.
As you read on, you will discover all there is to know about the predictions market platform, including how it works, the markets offered, and the legal situation surrounding it. I also discuss eligible payment methods, response times of support, and how to access Robinhood online or on the go. Time to get into it.
Overview: A snapshot of the Robinhood prediction market platform
Before I start to focus on the latest promotions, support methods, and potential culture prediction markets made available on Robinhood, I first want to ensure that you have an understanding of how things work here and why they are deemed legal to operate in the US.
What is Robinhood?
First, I am sure that many of you will be aware of the Robinhood trading platform. This allows you to open a stocks and shares ISA, trade US stocks with minimal fees, and open options and futures trades.
This can be achieved in the usual manner, requiring you to create an account online or through the Robinhood app, verifying your details, funding your account, and trading the latest markets.
Alongside the traditional side of trading, however, you will also find prediction markets. These markets are based on real-time events and allow you to trade based on two outcomes: Yes/No.
In turn, Robinhood is no longer considered solely as a trading platform. Instead, they would be considered as both a trading platform and a prediction market site. It is the latter that I am most interested in today.
How do Robinhood prediction markets work?
As this is a relatively new addition, I suspect many of you will be wondering what prediction markets are and how they work. Well, the idea remains the same wherever you decide to join; however, I found in my latest Robinhood review a simple breakdown for you.
Robinhood provides you with access to more than 1,000 prediction markets. This covers all types of real-world events, including sports, weather, crypto, and even tech prediction markets. Once you have found your preferences, you will be able to predict the outcome through a Yes/No option. Those of you who are familiar with trading will see that this mimics the Buy/Sell options available when trading markets.
You will then be expected to buy a Robinhood event contract based on your prediction. Each contract is priced under $1, reflecting the probability of your chosen entry. You can sell at any point; however, if you hold until the end of an event, you will either win $1 per correct contract or your entry will drop to $0 and close.
Although these contracts are predominantly opened as a single entry, you will find that custom Robinhood combos are possible on sports. In this instance, you will need all elements of your sports prediction market combo to be correct.
Is Robinhood legit?
Prediction markets on Robinhood are legal in all US states. In partnership with Kalshi, I found that all Robinhood prediction markets are regulated federally by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and are not yet subject to state-specific vetting.
That said, those of you following the latest prediction markets news will be well aware that some states have raised a few concerns regarding the crossover between prediction markets and sports betting. Naturally, I will aim to keep this section of my Robinhood review updated with any further news. For now, though, all of you over the age of 18 can look to make the most of any available Robinhood promo codes, prediction markets, and ongoing perks.
Members: Getting started with Robinhood
Next, I want to show you how to get started. These are the steps you must take to become a member of Robinhood today.
Robinhood review: My latest experience
With your account created, verified, and funded, you can then look to enjoy the complete Robinhood prediction market experience. This is all that I found based on my latest visit.
Welcome bonus
As briefly touched upon, you will be able to get your hands on a sign-up bonus over at Robinhood. Although not directly aimed at prediction markets, you will find that all new members have the potential to claim between $5 and $200 in stock.
Once you have signed up and linked your bank account or debit card, you will receive the new customer offer. This will come in the shape of a gift stock and will be completely randomized. However, Robinhood does keep things transparent, confirming that 99% of users will receive $5.
This reward can then be used on any stock and can be kept or sold after 3 trading days. Any potential from the sale can be used towards any other stocks that you wish to invest in over at Robinhood. That said, if you wish to withdraw, you must keep the cash value of the stock in your account for at least 30 days after claiming it. From then on, you will find the normal rules surrounding withdrawals take over.
Desktop and mobile design
You’ll soon know that you have landed on the Robinhood desktop or mobile site, thanks to the black, white, and green color palette. The dark background makes it nice and easy to locate key areas, and the menus and important tabs are predominantly found in the headers. Of course, on the mobile site, this changes slightly, and you will find that a burger menu in the top right-hand corner opens the doors to a list of key tabs. Generally, the site loads swiftly, regardless of whether you access it online or through your mobile device, and you will even find access to the latest prediction markets news, be able to build your own lists, and find convenient ‘i’ symbols that aim to provide you with key information throughout.
The big drawback of the desktop and mobile sites is that position information and trading are only accepted via the Robinhood app. Fortunately, this can be downloaded through the App Store or via the link found on the mobile site. Once downloaded, you will gain instant access to your portfolio, the latest prediction markets, and more. For the most part, I found that the app mirrors the mobile site, but things feel much sharper on the app.
Deposits, withdrawals, and fees
Funding the experience and withdrawing any potential winnings will always be a crucial part of my reviews, and I was pleased to see that Robinhood ticked just about each and every box imaginable.
You will find a great range of deposit and withdrawal options here, including ACH bank transfers, wire transfers, non-originated ACH transfers, debit cards, and real-time payments. In this convenient table, I have managed to highlight potential fees, maximum limits, and processing times. Please be aware that a minimum deposit of $1 applies to all methods.
| Transfer type | Deposit | Deposit processing | Withdrawal | Withdrawal processing | Fees |
| ACH | Up to $500k | 4 business days | Up to $250k | 1 day through Robinhood | N/A |
| Non-originated ACH | Up to $250k | 4 business days | Up to $250k | 1 day through Robinhood | N/A |
| Wire | Unlimited | Same day | Between $50k - unlimited | Same day if submitted before 4 pm | $25 for withdrawals |
| Debit card | Up to $10k | < 30 minutes | Up to $15k | < 30 minutes | 1.75% for withdrawals |
| Real-time payments | Up to $25k | < 30 minutes | Up to $50k | < 30 minutes | 1.75% for withdrawals |
Alongside Robinhood fees associated with withdrawals, I found fair commissions applied to each traded contract. As touched upon, Robinhood operates in partnership with Kalshi, and you will find that this $0.02 is split into the following.
- $0.01 is considered as Robinhood’s commission
- $0.01 is sent to Kalshi as an exchange fee
Prediction markets
With your account funded, you will want to know exactly where and what prediction markets you can begin to trade. As mentioned earlier in my Robinhood review, the prediction market site manages to make this process nice and straightforward, allowing you to click on predict to uncover the following.
Sports: Sports prediction markets are some of the most popular on Robinhood. Here, you will find that you can enter markets covering a range of popular sports, including baseball, boxing, esports, and soccer. In this section, you will find that simple Yes/No markets are generally split into Team 1/ Team 2 or Player 1/ Player 2 contracts. However, you can also merge a number of sports prediction markets to create a combo.
Chess: Although this one could fall into the sports section, you will find that a standalone prediction market section is tailored towards chess fanatics. Here, you will find more than two options/ways to enter the market, which will predominantly be focused on outright tournament winners. For instance, at the time of this Robinhood review, you will be able to choose between the following for the World Chess Championships.
- Javokhir Sindarov $0.69 (69% probability)
- Gukesh Dommaraju $0.33 (33% probability)
- Andrey Esipenko $0.01 (1% probability
Climate: Although perhaps not the most exciting prediction market offered at Robinhood, you will find the option of trading on rainfall and daily temperature highs throughout the US. For instance, you could trade on Boston’s daily temperature high of being less than 75.
Crypto: The volatile nature of cryptocurrencies makes this an interesting market to trade, especially for those who follow the news and market movement. As we all know, the crypto market can shift in a matter of minutes, and this leads to all types of contracts available at Robinhood. I noticed that you can buy contracts based on yearly predictions or focus on assets directly.
Economics: From the Fed and international affairs to petrol prices and indicators, I found a prediction market for just about any economic outcome at Robinhood. This can include Inflation by % in April, jobless claims in May, and even the rate decision of the Bank of Australia in June.
Elections: Contracts focused on the midterms, state-specific role changes, and international elections are all available at Robinhood, including some of the following.
- Prime Minister of Hungary 2026
- Georgia Republican Senate Nominee
- Which states will redistrict before the midterms?
Education: The Education section of Robinhood’s prediction markets page is split between tuition and ranking. This may include markets like Harvard tuition fees in 2026 or which school ranks first in 2027. Again, you simply need to click on the relevant contract associated with your prediction, enter the amount, and submit to open your position.
Entertainment: I found that the entertainment prediction markets from Robinhood are fairly extensive, focusing primarily on video games, movies, music, and TV. Although this may have changed since I last updated my Robinhood review, you can expect the following.
- Who will be on the cover of Madden 2027? Caleb Williams ($0.89), Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($0.20), or Drake Maye ($0.18)
- Who will headline Lollapalooza Chicago 2026? Lorde ($0.96), Tame Impala ($0.14), or Bad Bunny ($0.10)
Financial: Although Robinhood is its own trading platform first, you will also find prediction markets focused on NASDAQ, oil, S&P, and alternative assets. Like crypto prediction markets, you won’t be trading these assets directly. Instead, you will contract based on potential outcomes, such as the oil price on August 17th.
Foreign Exchange: Again, much like the financial prediction markets I have just covered, you will find a whole section devoted to FX. This primarily focuses on how the US Dollar will compare with other assets over a specified period, including the Yen, Canadian Dollar, and Pound Sterling.
Metals: Gold, Silver, Platinum, and Palladium are the four major metals covered by Robinhood. Here, I found that you will have two Robinhood event contracts available per metal, allowing you to open positions in daily or monthly prediction markets.
Politics: With things as they are, you could argue that politics prediction markets have the potential to be just as volatile as crypto. At Robinhood, I found that the main categories are Trump, Trade, Fiscal, Policy, Fed, and International markets.
Technology: Lastly, Robinhood provides markets on the very latest tech. This includes AI, companies, science, and space. The following are examples of current markets and prices.
| Prediction market | Option 1 | Option 2 | Option 3 |
| Best AI at the end of 2026? | Claude at 55.2% | Gemini at 18.9% | ChatGPT at 17.5% |
| US grants access for new nuclear reactors by 2027? | Before: Yes at 23.9% | Before: No at 76.7% | N/A |
| How many launches will SpaceX have in 2026? | Above 190 at 15% | Above 140 at 88% | Above 170 at 27% |
Customer support
Support is an area where I really thought Robinhood excelled. Here, you can soon click on your profile to open the support tab, which shows three main options: Help center, your chat, and disclosures. Underneath, you will also find a contact us button that links you directly to an AI support bot.
To receive support, you will first need to have verified your identity. From here, you can then type into the designated chat box and receive responses to the most common questions in seconds. You can also request to chat with live agents, and the AI bot will soon connect you with a member of the team.
Unsurprisingly, this method was very fast and ensured that any issues I had were soon resolved. This included confirmation of a mobile app, a breakdown of how to enter political prediction markets, and an explanation of how to withdraw from my account.
Alongside the live chat feature, you will find a number of detailed answers to common questions within the help center. Not to mention that you can also call between the hours of 7 am and 9 pm during the week, and send emails throughout. Just bear in mind that email replies can take up to 48 hours.
Referring your friends
If Robinhood is already starting to tick a lot of boxes, then you may wish to send my latest Robinhood review to your friends. Alongside it, I also need to mention that you could send your unique link (if you decide to join) to claim an additional bonus.
To make the most out of this one, you need to head on over to the rewards section. Here, you will find your referral code, which can be shared with friends. Provided your friend uses your code when signing up, they will trigger the bonus.
Then, for you to unlock a gift stock of between $5 and $200, your friend must fund their Robinhood account. As with the welcome bonus, Robinhood makes it clear that 96% of gift stock will be priced at $5.
Final thoughts: Robinhood is a top prediction market site with plenty to offer
I’ve left Robinhood today suitably impressed, and I think it has some serious potential within the realm of prediction markets.
As a new recruit, you can register, verify, and fund your account within minutes. From here, you will release a gift stock that cannot be used on prediction markets, but may provide you with some valuable knowledge on stocks before shifting back over to prediction markets. Here, you will find financial, FX, and crypto markets, which may carry over. If not, there is also everything from sports and entertainment to education and politics.
The desktop site, mobile site, and dedicated apps are nice and straightforward to use, allowing you to switch freely between them. Just bear in mind that you can only enter positions and close them through the app. Entering these contracts is enough, requiring you to click on your prediction, enter the amount you wish to enter, and submit. Just remember that fees are applied, and the most you can win per contract is $1. Should you encounter any issues, I have found that support is soon available to guide you back on track.
